Choose two attributes and commit
Perk trees reward depth. Spreading points across five attributes produces a character with no strong option. Pick the two that match how you want to play — typically one combat style and one support or hacking line.
Crafting pays for itself
Crafted and upgraded gear is generally better than what drops at the same point. Invest in the crafting perks early and upgrade the weapons you use rather than replacing them constantly.
Do side jobs before main missions
The main storyline is shorter than the side content and gates much of the city. Doing side jobs first leaves you better equipped and richer for the story beats that matter.
Sell smart, do not hoard junk
Components and unwanted gear sell for meaningful money. Sell regularly rather than carrying a full inventory, and disassemble items that yield upgrade materials you actually need.
Use the scanner constantly
Hacking gives alternative routes through most encounters — cameras, turrets and doors. It is a full parallel playstyle, not a gimmick, and it is available from early on.
Quickhacks and RAM
RAM regenerates and limits how much you can hack in a fight. Perks that regenerate RAM on kills make a hacking build self-sustaining; take those early.
Save often and in slots
Some choices gate content. Keep rotating saves so you can go back without replaying an hour.
