Work the bottom of the board
Matches near the bottom cause the largest cascades, because everything above falls. When two moves look equally good, take the lower one. Cascades clear tiles you did not pay for and often complete objectives by themselves.
Read the objective first
Every level states what it wants — a count of a colour, cleared jelly, dropped items. Play to that objective specifically. Clearing randomly near the top of the board wastes moves even when it looks productive.
Save boosters for the last third
Boosters and power-ups are worth the most when the board is nearly solved and one obstruction remains. Using one at the start of a level mostly clears tiles that would have cleared anyway.
Combine specials
Two special tiles triggered together do far more than twice the damage of one. Swap adjacent specials rather than firing them separately — this is the single largest score multiplier available in most of these games.
Lives are a currency
If the game uses a lives system, do not burn all of them on one hard level. Stop, come back later, or play an easier level to earn rewards. Re-attempting immediately while frustrated produces worse decisions, not better luck.
Watch the shop, not the pop-ups
Limited-time offers in these games are often worse value than the permanent packs. Compare what you get per unit of currency before buying, and remember that a booster pack does not help if you do not have the board skills to use it.
Coin Master and collection games
For collection-driven titles, the economy is the game: save spins or coins for events that multiply rewards, and prioritise completing sets during those windows rather than spending as you go.
