Unlock characters that change the loop
Some characters start with weapons that are simply better versions of the defaults. Prioritise the ones whose starting weapon you will actually keep, not the ones with the highest stats.
Buy permanent power ups early
The gold-fuelled permanent upgrades apply to every run. Investing there first makes every subsequent run easier, which makes later unlocks faster.
Limit your weapon slots deliberately
You can only hold a limited number of weapons, and evolution requires the matching passive. Decide your six slots before accepting pickups rather than taking whatever appears.
Evolve before you add
An evolved weapon is a large power spike. Finish the evolution of one weapon before starting a second pair, because half-built pairs occupy slots without paying off.
Move in patterns
Enemy spawns are directional. Walking in slow circles keeps you ahead of the crowd and concentrates enemies into a shape your weapons can cover.
Curse is a difficulty slider
Items that raise curse increase enemy density and spawn rate. More enemies means more experience, but also more risk — turn it up only once your weapons clear crowds reliably.
Use the collection screen
The in-game unlock and collection screens list the exact conditions for each unlock. Check them instead of guessing — most are straightforward once you know the requirement.
